How does the rental system work in Dubai? Do you pay weekly, monthly or yearly? I have been told that you have to pay upfront for the year. Is this true? It seems a little absurd if this is true however still worries me. If anybody knows the answer to this would be a great help. Thanks

Every 3 months, 4 cheques should be given to the owner for one year.

Normally it is 3 or 4 cheques - which means that you dont actually have to hand over the full amount all at once but you do have to make sure that there is enough cash in the bank to cover the cheques when they become due - as bouncing a cheque in the UAE is an offence. Good luck

I pay cash, every month, it is easier to keep an eye on. Some apartment landlords, really prefer cash. Just ask. basically there is no law, which says how rents should be payed, its up to agreement. Mostly rents are payed by dated cheques splitted in 4 per annum.
