While you are here on a visit visa you can look and apply for work. Then your employer will become your sponsor and obtain a residence visa for you. Regarding the UAE Labour Law all visa costs have to be on the employer. You are not allowed to work under a visit visa. You might receive an offer letter. The offer letter is a promise of contractual relation under the same conditions appearing in the offer. It can further be adequate proof in proving the contractual conditions and terms in case the sponsor does not sign the labour contract. The sponsor might need approximately a one-month period to issue an employment residence visa for a new employee. As for some establishments having employees working on visit visa, this can be explained as the establishments's desire to examine the employee's capabilities before giving residency but this practice is in violation of the Labour Law. I do not know if it will be hard or easy for you to find a job. That depends on your profession and experience. If you have certain companies in mind already, get in contact with them in advance and check out any openings. Also look online at job openings with some recruitment agencies. If you see a suitable job, send in your resumee and apply.
