How much does it cost to live and work in Dubai

How much does it cost to live and work in Dubai?
I've lived in Bahrain, before and I've lived in Canada for over a Decade. How is the Quality of Life in Dubai and Healthcare, Employment and Affordability? You can Give an Approximate Estimate in any Currency. If Dubai is too expensive then please list other places that are great to live in.

Healthcare is free. If you get a good job, you'll save more money than you do in Canada. You don't have to pay tax. The cost of living is more expensive in Dubai but the salaries are even higher, so that's what I mean. Of course you cannot afford to live there if you don't have a stable job. Quality of life? This is very subjective. What do you define quality of life? If you like nature, the four seasons, lakes, rivers, parks, the ability to talk to people on the street - STAY IN CANADA. If you like glitzy urban stuff, boutique perfumes, glossy supermarkets, etc, go to Dubai.

now the dubai is expensive for everything, rent, food

From Canada, you can save money by no taxes. If you have a good job offer, make certain it includes housing and transportation. Other wise you cannot afford to live here!
4 :
Dubai is very expensive city at moment at least you need 3000 dollars monthly to live there ( 0 safe )

Since You Have Already Stayed In Bahrain, I Presume You Know How The Lifestyle In GCC Countries Is Like, Dubai Is Just A Little More Expenisive Than Bahrain, when it comes to grocery shopping etc. but when it comes to Accomidation, the rents here are 4 - 5 times more than what you pay in bahrain. for ex: if the rent of a decent 3 bedroom apt in Umm Al Naar is BD 6000, than the rent here is nothing less than AED 140,000 for a 3 bedroom apt. People have more activities to do here, than in Bahrain, therefore, they spend more. Healthcare appears to be resonable, only if you have medical insurance.

If you are a bachelor and planning for a bachelor accommodation and life style, the minimum expenses in Dubai would be approximately US$3000 p.m.

Maybe he could work in Malaysia instead
2 :
Yeah, he'd be deported to awesometown. Then he'd leave you and date Pam Anderson.
3 :
Not legally, no. If he can get past the stringent screening procedure, he can work, but if it is ever discovered that he concealed his status, he will be fined and deported, and his employer could face fines as well. One never fully recovers from hepatitis C; it is an incurable disease.
4 :
Your husband can work in dibai with out question asked about his sickness
5 :
Yes. there is no reason why he could not work, If he has showed up negative and has that report from his doctor he should be fine.
6 :
Anyone with HCV can work where they want. HCV is bloodborne. It is not a communicable disease- it is only spread through cross contamination of blood. Doctors, nurses, aides, chemical workers, food service workers....basically anyone can work where ever. There may be some companies who choose not to hire those with HCV, but truthfully they are breaking the law. As long as the HCV doesn't keep one from doing their job, work away! Good luck!

Working age in the UAE is 18 years. Minimum requirement for an employee is a high school doploma. Best chances to make good money is to be a professional in a field which is needed in the UAE. Engineers, teachers and the medical field, etc.Being a specialist in one of these professions and having experience means good chances to make good money in the UAE. Therefore we are talking about around 10 - 15 years from now. Who knows what's the situation then. Decide then regarding your profession and personal life if you still want to migrate. Dubai isn't the only place where you can become a successful men. The same is possible in the UK also:) May all your dreams come true.

We both share the same dream, i want to look after my parents to and send them to Hajj, i may go with them. Its not all about becoming a successful business man, its about being happy in life, remember what the al mighty has ordained on you, will happen. I hope things go to plan We men/woman sometimes forget the al mighty God as he is the gate keeper the supreme, but remeber as we make plans God is also making plans. The al mighty is the master of plans, which is mentioned in the holy books. You dont need to work in Dubai, this all can happen in the UK, your young with bright ideas, but when you are old enough you will make all the right choices. If God wants this for you, everything will fall into place like a jigsaw. All God asks us to make is the right intention, if so we will be successfull with his grace. When you are successful remember God, as he will always remember you.

It shoould be stated in your contract that you will have to pay back the VISA expenses. If so stated, check with your Human Resources Manager and ask for proof of payment of Visa Fees to the Government before you pay the amount asked by him/her.
2 :
the visa fees are around dhs 300. you might get a ban in you passport. it will be fort 6 months (you can have that waived for dhs 500) or for 1 year and can not enter the uae during this time.
3 :
you should pay for the expences of the visa fee, insurance and what related, you have to check with them when you signe the contract good luck work there is very nice, you are lucky
