Will A Phone Bought From America Work In Dubai?
Im thinking of buying a phone I really want but the price they're selling it for here is a rip-off. Say I buy an unlocked version of the phone in America and then bring it to Dubai. Will It Work? I was thinking about buying the HTC Hero or the Droid Incredible.

I don't think these devices will work for you. First of all, both of them are CDMA-type phones, and they will not work on GSM networks, which is what the rest of the world uses almost exclusively. Also, these devices aren't generally sold unlocked, and there's no guarantee you could get them working in Dubai, even if there was a CDMA network there. Your other option is to look at the two GSM companies in America, T-Mobile and AT&T. Again, the issues with buying a phone directly from them is that their phones are sold SIM locked, so you'd have to pay to get one unlocked. Another option is the Google Nexus One. There are two versions, and you would want the one used on T-Mobile's US network, since the GSM frequencies match the UAE. You can find the Nexus on eBay, and I hear they are selling it in Dubai. You should also be able to get it from Google directly: http://www.google.com/phone The specs on the Nexus are nearly identical to the Incredible (except for the camera resolution), and both the Nexus and the Incredible have double the processing power of the Hero (the comparable GSM phone to the Hero would be the MyTouch 3G from T-Mobile). CAN A NURSE WORK IN DUBAI WITH MOH LICENSE?
I am currently in Dubai under my husband sponsorship. I am a Registered Nurse with MOH license. Is it possible to work in DUBAI with an MOH license or I need to apply again for a new DOH license? Sorry for making the characters all CAPS, but it doesn't mean I am shouting. Nurses can apply for a job at the Ministry of Health in Abu Dhabi or Dubai and if the application is accepted, the person may work at any of the seven emirates. In Dubai the only government hospital run by MOH is Al Baraha Hospital (formerly Kuwait Hospital), all the rest are DOH. Do I need visit visa if i am planning to work in dubai?
Im working here in qatar as an accountant. Next year my contract will end. Im planning to go in dubai to visit my girlfriend but im planning also to find a work there at the same time. Do I need to Acquire visit visa first to enter dubai if im planning to work there? or My entry visa of 30 days can also be possible that i could find there a job? Whats the best thing I should do?

Hi dear, well for ur information ur 30day visa is ur visit visa, which u could extend for another 30 days by paying some gov. fees. U cann't work legally on this visa unless it's an employee visa, but u could search for the job while ur stay here and make interviews.i wish and i am sure u'll get. wish u all the best and nice to hear u r coming here just to c ur gf.

Look at recruitment agencies online for a suitable job in advance. If you find something and get hired you will enter the UAE on an employment entry instead a visit visa. In this case your future employer will take care of the whole visa procedere and bear all the costs. The only thing you have to do when here is you'll have to take a blood test. If you go on a visit visa you should go knocking on doors, asking your girlfriend and her friends, showing your face in companies and passing out your resume. Headhunters are fine but they usually take time and take your money. If you find a job there you might have to leave until your work visa goes through, otherwise the company hiring you can help you get an extension on your visit visa until your work visa is ready. Make contacts!

Does anyone know what is DOH licence for work in Dubai?
Ok, here is my question: what is DOH licence and how I can get one? I am a dental nurse considering to move to dubai for work and I need DOH licence. Do you have any idea what it may be? Please, also, maybe there are some insiders who work in Dubai? Maybe you could advice me if it is better to search for a job from UK online or go straight there and look for one while staying? Thanks in advance!

DOH = Department of Health For my knowledge: Nurses who want to work in any Emirates have to undergo the test at HAAD (Health Authority of Abu Dhabi). To work only in Dubai nurses have to take the test at DOHMS. But - nurses from english speaking countries like UK, USA, CAD and SA do not have to sit the test. Also not dental assistens. Please be aware that salaries for nurses are very low in the UAE and these jobs are taken mostly by Philippinas.
