How is anybody suppose to know what kind of salary a Chinese translator will receive? The salary will depend beside on nationality, on experience, what kind of languages he/she speaks and on the company itself. Salaries are freely negotiable. Anyway - his/her salary will be a low one. Jan, I told you before that Hepatitis belongs to the deportable diseases in the UAE. Therefore of course a work permit/residence visa would be denied. Sorry.
2 :
as h says no. the only way u get a work permit is yr employer applying for it with yr residence visa. as u have to take a blood test as part of the process to get the residence visa u will be deported quicker than u can say work permit.
3 :
Sorry, the answer is NO. In UAE the list of blood-borne deportable diseases, includes HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis B & hepatitis C, effective July 1 2008.

Hi I would like to know, if it's possible working in Dubai without a degree. Some friends om mine have a business in Dubai. They offered me a job, but they were told that it's not possible to working without a degree. The job is being a project manager, and my friends want to give me a internschooling. Can you please help me with that problem. I hope for a positive answer! Kind regards Kawtar Al Moussaoui

without a degree usually PM designation visa is not issued so it might be a problem

Please check... http://www.uaeforums.org

Please check UAEforums.org
4 :
For an employee in the UAE a high school diploma is required as a minimum. To obtain a Labour card for the title of a manager, a bachelor's/college degree is required. Internschooling will not help because these degrees have to be verified in your home country. Take care and all the best.

I think it is you yourself who is in this situation. If so, I think you should not go for the minimum, but for a maximum, and ask something reasonable about the average. As for this question, you are sure to get a very late answer. So, better go and ask somebody who is already into the same service industry. He or she will be able to give you a better idea. Best of Luck... Tip: Use people networking if you don't know know anybody in the profession.

I think that minimum should be 5000$. But do not ask for the minimum

What are the right way if someone wants to get me here in philippines to work in dubai being a family driver.

What are the right way if someone wants to get me here in philippines to work in dubai being a family driver.?

United Arab Emirates - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Being a family driver you are considered being a domestic helper and the following rules apply: An expatriate resident can file an application for a domestic helper's visa at the visa section of the Residency and Naturalisation Department of the Emirate which issued his residence visa. The head of the family (couple with or without children) or a working widow or divorced mother with children, or a widower or divorced father with children can apply for a domestic helper's visa. The sponsor should earn a salary of not less than Dh5,000 with accommodation or Dh6,000. When applying for the domestic helper's visa an expatriate must pay a Dh5,000 refundable deposit which will be returned when the residence visa is stamped on the domestic helper's passport. The sponsor must retain the deposit receipt to obtain a refund. Fees to be paid: When the residence visa is stamped on the domestic helper's passport Dh4,800 must be paid in Interior Ministry fees. Apart from the fee another Dh100 must be paid for the residence visa. - Dh100 for the sponsorship and - Dh100 for a domestic helper's card. When the domestic helper enters the country, you must undergo a health check-up at a government hospital in the emirate where the visa was issued. The cost of the medical check-up is Dh1,200. This should be done before applying for the residence visa. The domestic helper will then be given a health card. You will also be taken for an iris scan and fingerprinting at the police headquarters of the Emirate. The residence visa must be stamped on the domestic helper's passport within 60 days from the date of the person's entry into the country. No one is allowed to employ a domestic helper who is not under his sponsorship. A resident can employ a domestic helper on his own by following the set rules or use the services of a labour recruitment agency which will charge Dh3,500. The annual ministry fees of Dh4,800 and the deposit amount of Dh5,000 is under review and is expected to be reduced. Emiratis who apply for a domestic helper's visa have to pay a Dh1,200 refundable deposit. They do not have to pay the annual Dh4,800 ministry fee. The sponsor needs: An e-form application filled and signed by the sponsor. This will cost Dh100. A copy of the sponsor's passport. copy of the domestic helper's passport. Three passport photos of the helper . An official labour contract (approved and signed by the embassy of the domestic helper) signed by the helper and by the sponsor. Copy of the work contract of the sponsor, with salary certificate. The sponsor can bring a domestic helper from his or her own country, but you need a letter from the embassy or consulate to prove that they are not relatives. Hope, that this answers your question.

Hi, my boyfriend has been offered a job in Dubai this morning and wants us to consider going for a year. Living together without being married is considered illegal also when Dubai turns a blind eye on this. But it just takes a person, preferbly an Emirati to complain, and authorities have to take action. Your bf will not be able to sponsor you. Means - you will have to obtain a tourist visa, extend the same (60 days in total), leave the country for 30 days and re-enter again on a new tourist visa. You won't be able to obtain a drivers license, to open a bank account, medical only emergencies will be covered and you can't get pregnant. Please think twice. Best opportunity is to land a job yourself and be sponsored by a company.

I think Dubai is liberal but I doubt that they are liberal enough to allow unmarried couples to cohabit. They will probably want a marriage certificate before they will give you a visa. You will be able to get a tourist visa for a month or so and renew it once or twice without leaving the country. It;s no big deal to slip across to Doha for a weekend though
2 :
the first thing you gonna hear in Dubai is " ITS MY COUNTRY YOU DAMN FOREIGNER, FUCK OFF OR I WILL KILL YOU IN YOUR BED" hope i was help-full
3 :
You will not be able to get a visa to go with him if you are not his wife. You will have to get married before going if you want to be together. Also it's technically illegal for unmarried couples to live together, though there are many expats who do. But if you were to be reported by any of your neighbours or your building manager you both could face prison time and deportation If couples can be thrown in jail for a single kiss in public

getting a job in dubai is a really good idea, you could get alot of well paying jobs espcially with a degree i live in dubai and there are alot of asians and expacts living there so you wont feel left out and its not hard to work there at all.real estate is a good business to look into there. good luck!!
3 :
The practical way to get the job in Dubai is to pay a visit there first atleast for 2 months and then search for a job using the recruitment companies there. Using the Internet, it is hard for companies to wait and see you coming. When you are physically present at a time for interview or evaluation, it is easy for you to take the opportunity.
4 :
I think you should look for a suitable job on the net, apply for it and good luck. As Asian, you will find lot of Asians working in United Arab Emirates, and you will enjoy your stay here in Dubai. Good luck.
5 :
depends if u r gal than u might get selected in prostitution and if u r gay or guy than u can go for hair cutting saloon coz both of these jobs are in high demand by the crazy people of uae
6 :
Philippines are welcome anyway getting a job is not hard when you think of it as a first job not a life job. call your trusted friends in uae and save money for at least 3 month living in uae, then pack and fly. if your degree is engineering and you're male then mail me . if you're female and your degree is in business mail me.

Fairies wear boots: My respect!
3 :
Fairies with boots" gave a great answer to this question, but I just want to emphasize the issues you will have with a visa. You will need to make sure you get the right visa, upon entry to the country (visitor's visa vs. tourist visa) and then, as noted in the other answer, you'll need to leave the country for 30 days every 60 days. Countries over here do not encourage people to hang out with out a job (sponsor).
4 :
Land a job, get sponsored and you will not have to worry about anything else. But do not commit sexual acts as your not married or in your westernised country, hence woman and men are not as free as they would like to be, i agree with islamic law tbh. Or another alternative, get married quick then come to Dubai. I suppose you both love each other enough to tie the knot. So why not get married! what's stopping you both? Emirati take offence when they see couple's kissing, its very absecure to them, they live the life of muslims not westerners and like to cover up for dignity and respect. I respect all religions and types of people. Please just be carefull and dont do anything silly. I was very astonished reading an article, a Pakistani couple from london were caught and jailed for three months, they got DRUNK!!! AND commited a SIN that was against sharia law. I thought they would of had more sense to be honest. Watch your mouth also as it can lead you into trouble, DO NOT slag of the Islamic tradition as some westrners, do not speak ill of Islam if you don't know the true facts. Thanks and please consider me for best answer, think my answer was better :P Take care and good luck Edit: Right ok who gave me the thumbs down? Own up please, i think someone here is spoiling my chances of getting best answer.
5 :
Don't go to Dubai. As a female there you'll always be a second class citizen. Only go there if you have a job. Or have family there.
6 :
What nationality are you - this has a bearing on ease of visa renewals for you. Its a great opportunity. Short term a tourist visa isn't a real problem BUT longterm - if you are not getting married - it will be. You really would need to get some sort of job or get married to not have visa hassles. A friend of mine does 20 hours a week at the Special Needs Centre - there are plenty of part time reception jobs around... But again - Nationality plays a part. And once you are married then all your husband needs to do is give you a NOL (No Objection Letter) so you are allowed to open your own bank account.. I think even a drivers license requires husbands permission. Ahhh - I love it - too funny. And yes - I am a male. Anyways - best of luck.

you should bring it because you could sell it out there.

The games out there will not work. Mine as well just sell the console and buy a new one there. Unless you are just staying there for a little in that case buy one when you get there & keep this one for when you get back.

Hi everyone...is anybody experienced working in Dubai? Hows its like to work in there? its the salary good?

if you get a job there, please do not keep me on hold for friggin 30 minutes.... please just transfer me to your supervisor like i asked in the first place....
2 :
my friend told me the salary is very good.go on do it.
3 :
The richest country in the world may not be the best place to work. First, do you know anybody there, to teach you the culture and way of life. second, it helps if you know the language. Money, or a hefty salary is not the answer to happiness. I got friends, a whole family, that use to live there and they actually own a business there and they told me that it is ok, but they won't recommend it in a heartbeat. My dad, actually work in its neighboring country for two decades and he would'nt recommend it.
4 :
yes is true as is the country which is wealth of oil transportation and export to outside country
5 :
It is right that Dubai belongs to one of the richtest countries. If salaries are great depends what you call a great salary and on your life style. The salary you receive depends also on your profession, experience and sad but true: on your nationality. It's not only the salary that's count living here, it's the salary package which should incl. Salary, housing allowance, transportation, health care and a once a year ticket back home. Salaries vary from Dhs 400 for cleaning staff to Dhs 800 - Dhs1.200 for workers and up to Dhs 2.500 to 4.000 for people working in the private sector working as sales persons or in offices. These people are mostly from the Phillippiniens, Pakistan and the Indian Subcontinent. The salary of a teacher or a nurse can be higher depending if he/she works for a private clinic/school or for the govt. sector. Also people working in the banking sector will receive a higher salary. Most Westerners would not work for that kind of money coz they won't leave their home country to work in the UAE for less then back home. The salary packages for Westerners will mostly start with a basic salary of minimum Dhs 10.000 and rent will be paid. Pleas note that the a.m. salaries are only averages and must not suit everybody. Start looking for a suitable job offer advertised by recruitment agencies online. You'll find a complete list here: http://www.startpagedubai.com/jobs.htm Under the next link you'll find more useful information about working and living in Dubai: http://www.justlanded.com/english/dubai/tools/just_landed_guide/jobs/employment_contracts Take care

Not only in Dubai and Sharjah. The UAE is full of foreign male nationals who are not used to that a woman makes the same kind of money than men. Many times that can lead to problems. Not to long ago I read a letter to the editor in the Gulf news. A guy of a certain nationality wrote: A gap between salaries of male and female employees is necessary. In case the woman makes the same amount as the man or even more, it will mostly cause problems in their marriage. After reading this I talked to a french boss of 7 (of this certain nationality) who wants to have an european lady on his team. So far he did not find anybody because every woman fears to be mobbed by the men because she will at least make the same money. It would be wrong to generalize but most problems you have to expect in case your future collegues are Indians and Pakistanis (no offense, please!) and you earn the same or even more. This should not keep you away from working in the UAE. The UAE has a good working law. Just stand up for your rights and put people politley in place where necessary. Take care. edit Vinod: if a woman works together with a majority of a certain nationality which are not used to equal rights a woman mostly (not always) has to face problems. You can not deny that.
3 :
it depends what business ur in and yr nationality, asian maids have always been treated badly, as have asian women in some workplaces, when i was in the local hospital having my baby the local women talked to the indian consultant like she was their maid. its always been like that, i lived there a few years ago. if u want to find good treatment try a western company or the same nationality as ur.
4 :
Dear, In my experience, I dont think so, because many (mostly) of the working ladies are foreigners, and I believe most of them are not facing any problems like bad treatment from colleagues or superiors. In my company, a good treatment and equal status is given for foreign lady employees. Thx
5 :
pls see intl labour organisations web there is detailed report of the plight of female employes based on real life experience their interviews / follow up and conclusions . a brief note is also seen in the cia web site .. the former is athoritative data
6 :
Probably depends on the employer. I work for a really good employer and there doesn't seem to be any gender discrimination. The Westerners seem to make a lot more than the Indians though.

How's work in Dubai

How's work in Dubai ?
I'm in Egypt. I'm going to study Petroleum Engineering. A friend of mine told me that her husband can get me a job in Dubai after finishing university. So I want to ask, How's that going to be ? ... Because I don't want to have a tiring job. Is it going to be hard ??

u have still not finished ur studies and thinking of an easy job ? what do u aim to achive in life with this attitude ? u have to work hard to achive soem thing in ur life . and the harder u work in the begining u will benifit and reap better rewards in ur latter life . so dotn shy away to work hard int he begining when u can afford to with all ur energy ..... now its difficult to get good job with the current market situation . but ur luck will guide u ... best of luck
2 :
Mustafa, I agree with sas- this should not be your worry at this stage. Do not get engaged in a college major betting the husband of a friend can help you find a job when u graduate. Rather focus on what your interests are, what you want and what YOU see yourself doing on the long run , pursue that field of study, work hard, prove yourself, and you will get the good job that you want, may it be a job in Dubai , a job in KSA , a job in Egypt or any other job in the middle east and beyond! good luck to you!

am i allowed to work in dubai while carrying tourist status

am i allowed to work in dubai while carrying tourist status?
i will be in dubai, this coming february under visit visa.but when i get there,i have plans to eventually find work and if possible,do processing of my visa from visit to employment.for this, would it not be hard for me to find job and do the necessary thing for my visa?how am i to do this...?

While you are here on a visit visa you can look and apply for work. Then your employer will become your sponsor and obtain a residence visa for you. Regarding the UAE Labour Law all visa costs have to be on the employer. You are not allowed to work under a visit visa. You might receive an offer letter. The offer letter is a promise of contractual relation under the same conditions appearing in the offer. It can further be adequate proof in proving the contractual conditions and terms in case the sponsor does not sign the labour contract. The sponsor might need approximately a one-month period to issue an employment residence visa for a new employee. As for some establishments having employees working on visit visa, this can be explained as the establishments's desire to examine the employee's capabilities before giving residency but this practice is in violation of the Labour Law. I do not know if it will be hard or easy for you to find a job. That depends on your profession and experience. If you have certain companies in mind already, get in contact with them in advance and check out any openings. Also look online at job openings with some recruitment agencies. If you see a suitable job, send in your resumee and apply. Here are some (there are many more, look for them): www.jobsindubai.com www.mybetterfuture.com www.uaestaffing.com www.uaedubaijobs.com www.dubaijobs.net www.theemiratesnetwork.com www.monster.com While you are in Dubai, check out the local papers under classified. Tough one grandpa... UAE does not accept and issue working visa to people over 60 years old UNLESS you're an investor.
2 :
Normaly I like the answers giving by the answerer above, but this time........... Please visit the following link regarding people your age working in the UAE: http://www.gulfnews.com/uaessentials/residentsguide/working_life/10118163.html Also look at this link providing you with all reputated recruitment agencies in the UAE: http://www.startpagedubai.com/jobs.htm I hired a 63 year old consultant and the only "problem" I was running into was to get her a local health insurance. Most health insurances in the UAE do not want to insure people over 65 years old, which is mandatory in Abu Dhabi. Dubai did not reach the mandatory health insurance paid by the employer yet. Anyway, if you are experiened and find a suitable job offer, age is not a problem at all. I rather hire an experienced person who costs me more than a young one without experience. It all depends on the company's demand. Good luck and all the best.

Dear Friend Please be noted that if your passport holds a valid resident/work permit of any 6 GCC Nation Visas, you must cancel the same to get an employment/resident visa stamp on passport (For New visa/Entry Permit issue from NRD, it is not a problem, but when the visa stamping time, you will not allowed so) Best of Luck Thx

A maid from India must be older than 30, but not over 60. For additional information, please visit the link giving below: http://www.gulfnews.com/uaessentials/residentsguide/getting_started/10101552.html edit Mohamed: A nanny can be a wife, but a wife is not a nanny and neither one of them will be "imported". The questioner is asking about a nanny, means, you can take it for granted that he has a wife already and at least one child.
2 :
Is that a Nanny or a wife? Mind you I think that is going to be very difficult for you to import her to Dubai, unless you are a pure Khaleeji and a gown up man with a family. I think you have to ask the authorities for the right answer.

When is Ramadan? Do they have work their in Dubai during Ramadan?
Im planning to leave to Dubai by August. But a friend told me that it is better to leave by September to make sure Ramadan has ended because their is no work in Ramadan.. I mean, I am going to Dubai using vivit visa only and I'll find work there. Would you recommend me to leave on September or it doesn't matter anyway. Can I still apply and find work there during those days? Thank you so much.

the most cost effective way to find a job in dubai is to apply from abroad set up interviews and meetings back-to-back within a two week time frame and THEN fly out to Dubai. during ramadhan application processes take longer simply because people work shorter hours-not because there are less job vacancies. ramadhan is a month-long duration on an annual basis and when it begins and ends is cyclical. the easiest way to remember this cycle is as follows:: the next ramadhan starts 10 days earlier than the most recently completed one.
2 :
Yes ramadan matters. I would suggest you come only after 2 weeks after ramadan. Its because in ramadan season , no restaurant would be open during day time. Also , if u take food in open during day time, police will catch you .. (no joke). Secondly the climate. The climate now is 45+ celcious in day time. It is 38+ celcious in night... The climate would be pleasant by around Novenmber or september end.
3 :
Ramadan chances every year, but in 2006 it will be from 23 September to 23 OCtober. Working hours are reduced those days and a lot of the city is up very late partying. I would therefore come before or after Ramadan if I were job hunting. Don't forget that Ramadan is followed by Eid, which is a three-day holiday.

Yes, with a power converter transformer. The TV will likely be incompatible with Canadian video sources, the DVD player only play Dubai region DVDs, and the radio tuner tune only Dubai band plan (may be similar to US/Canada, or be reprogrammable). Overall, I wouldn't bother.

Apply for jobs that offer a visa, or apply for a visa and go get a job after traveling there. One warning though, Dubai is going down fast, since it only has about 5% of the oil in the U.A.E. where as Abu Dhabi has the other 95%. Try and go to Abu Dhabi to get a job, jobs look to have more longevity there.
2 :
....Clone yourself? Seriously, though, my guess is you would first need a passport and a visa to get into the country and then find the US embassy there and look into changing citizenship or getting a job permit.
3 :
when you look for a job in your country where do you go to .. job fairs , classifieds , internet, papers, recruitment agencies .. same here . UAE only gives residency no citizenship except by birth or marriage (and that takes years). Even in US if a US citizen goes to another state they need to be living there 3 years before they can apply to become a state resident.

Of course your wife can look for a parttime job. She only needs to obtain a labour card which should be renewed every year. Some companies are ready to employ women husband's sponsorship but some prefer that the woman they employ be sponsored by the company. Women need an approval from the husband if they wish to work. The labour card of a working women sponsored by the husband will be cancelled automatically when the card expires and is not renewed at the Ministry of Labour. Companies will have to reapply every year for a new labour card. The fee for a labour card for a working woman sponsored by her husband is Dh1,200, to be paid in two installments: Dh200 at the time of submitting the application and the remaining Dh1,000 at the time of the ministry approval. The fees have to be paid by e-dirham. The employer should pay the fees. Working women also do not need to give their passport to the employer. She should also keep her labour card with her. But if the woman wants to transfer sponsorship from her father or husband to work in the private sector, she needs approval of the previous sponsor and the new sponsor. She also needs approval from the Ministry of Labour if her work is among the categories that are subject to the Labour Law. She would further need approval of the residency department. Expatriates who have valid residency papers can apply for a visit visa for relatives or friends, but must fulfil certain conditions. According to the Naturalisation and Residency Department (NRD) law, if the sponsored relative is a female, she should not be less than 25 years of age. An expatriate can also sponsor two friends on visit at a time, but the salary requirements are higher - not less than Dh10,000 and Dh2,000 refundable deposit for each person which is returned after the friends leave the country. One should keep the receipt safely and present it for the refund. Take care

i am an australian looking for work in Dubai in Call Centre and Teleco management.?
i have been applying via various websites however there does not seem to be much in Dubai with respect to Call Centres. Does anyone know of any specialist Call Centre recruitment firms for Duabi or the entire UAE for that matter. I am also married with 3 children. What are my chances of getting a job???

Most call centres are outsourced to countries with cheaper labour such as India and Egypt.
2 :
Try the banking sector mate! They got loads of jobs for people in experience at call centers.
3 :
I do not want to seem rude nor offensive, but you as an Australian will not get any job in this field. There are to many Indians working in these outsoured fields for a third than an Australian woud cost. In the UAE you get paid by your Nationality and any educated Indian is cheaper than an Australian. That's the way it is without any offense to any nationality. Take care.
4 :
I assume by call center you mean those annoying people in the west who call you and bother you at home by trying to sell you things you don't want or need! I lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE for 5 years and never recieved a single one of those calls on my phone. And I agree with H if it had to done then it would have to be outsourced to somebody from a third world country who probably were fluent in both Arabic and English.

Which is best country to work for? Dubai or Kuwait?
I heard about the beauty of dubai but sad to think despite the beauty is the expensiveness of living. Oh about Kuwait, is it true you can breath in Kuwait? Yeah they have the strongest currency? having big value of money. Does this mean its a best idea to work here? please help me im doubting. Thank you

yes its true that kuwait has a stronger currency. however, if you like an advanced urban setting, then dubai is the place for you. Yes, i also agree with the fact that dubai is getting quiet expensive these days but however, i think its better than kuwait because dubai offers more opportunities and is much more entertaining than kuwait. In addition to this, Dubai offers jobs that give a good salary although i'm not quiet sure about the salary offered in kuwait
2 :
Dubai is the best countries for work www.gaypedia.com
3 :
do the pros and cons: Dubai: pros: it is nice, well paid and very competitive, you will make a lot of money cons: you will spend a lot of money, and because it is so competitive you have to bring your A game to work everyday or you will lose your job Kuwait: pros: very well paid, probably better than dubai, easy to go up and go up the ladder as there is almost no competition. cons: very archaic society and they treat foreigners like shit, (not europeans of course, but the rest yes). also key positions are held by locals and so your corporate career will be limited to senior position and TOP TOP TOP management will be reserved to kuwaiti or european.
4 :
Hi, I've been woking in dubai and now i live in kuwait.both countries are expensive but if i have a choice i will go back to dubai, even i dont like it much.Life here is toooo expensive, dubai much cheaper,I have a very well paid job and still hard to manage.
5 :
NOT right now, both of them have economy crises.
6 :
I have lived in Kuwait for 2 years that seemed like an eternity. Yes, you will probably save more money in Kuwait because rent is cheaper and there is nothing to spend your money on really.... BUT KUWAIT IS SOOOOO BORING!!! you'll make money, but want to leave every chance you have. Stay there long enough, you will start going crazy and feel like you are wasting your life. There is NOTHING to do in that pathetic excuse for a country. Dubai is more expensive, but you will actually have a social life and entertainment options, lots of things to do. Time will go by much faster in the UAE. Yes, Kuwait has the strongest artificial currency in the GCC, but that has no bearing on what things cost or your cost of living. (ex. most things cost the same if you convert to AED or whatever other currency). I don't recommend going to Kuwait for anybody.... .
7 :
Dubai, the best place in the middle east to work, stay and play..
8 :
Hi i am kuwaiti i agree that Dubai is more fun and have night clubs and beers and kuwait don't but kuwait have safer fun for you and your family .kuwait just began to change it has lots of malls and more are opening soon . you can get a highly paid job . kuwait currency is high and Evey thing is cheap eg. food & drink ,house rent well i am not choosing kuwait because its my country but i choose it because its safer and its trying to develop.
